Why Do I Need A Building Permit?

The purpose of a building permit is to ensure that all structures and other developments comply with both state and local ordinances, , and that safety requirements are followed.

Building Permit Application (city non-code enforced). Applicants will be redirected to a second party site to fill out the application. There will be computer access at City Hall (during normal business hours) for those unable to access the internet from a personal computer.

     Procedure for applying for a Plan Review – email plan review application (SBD form/s) and plans to Lisa (email above), you will be contacted with the fees that are owed for the review. 

     Procedure for applying for permits (Buildlng, Electric, Plumbin, HVAC), all permits, plans and documentation should be emailed to Lisa (email above), once approved, you will be notified of the fees to be paid, these fees will be paid to the City of           Kewaunee. Your permit will be emailed to you after the fees have been received by the City Clerk’s office. Please be sure to provide a contact email when submitting your documents.

WHEN AN INSPECTION IS NEEDED TO BE COMPLETED ON YOUR PROJECT, PLEASE CONTACT THE FOLLOWING: 262-420-4732 OR BY EMAIL; [email protected] You will be notified when your inspection is scheduled. Prepare for a virtual inspection (pictures or videos).
